Clare Murphy conducts research focused on understanding the changing composition and chemistry of the atmosphere, with special interest in fire emissions, air quality and remote sensing of the atmosphere.

She undertakes several international governance roles including Co-chair of International Global Atmospheric Chemistry (IGAC) Scientific Steering Committee 2020-2024 and as a member of the International Commission on Atmospheric Chemistry and Global Pollution (iCACGP) 2016-2022 inclusive.
