Yajat Goswami

Masters Candidate

Originally from Vrindavan, India, Yajat's research explores how artificial intelligence can be applied to environmental science, particularly in improving flood intelligence and disaster preparedness. His current work focuses on integrating hydrology with machine learning and foundation-model approaches to support better decision-making for climate risk and emergency management.

Yajat completed his MTech in Artificial Intelligence at the National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, where he graduated with a Gold Medal. Prior to joining UNSW, he worked at the Indian Institute of Science on multidisciplinary AI research spanning agriculture and healthcare.

His broader research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence, climate science, and public policy. Yajat is particularly motivated by research that bridges technological innovation with real-world societal impact, helping governments and communities better respond to environmental challenges.
