Sima Rahmani
Masters Candidate
Sima Rahmani's Master's project title is 'Topographic Drivers of Lightning Ignition'.
Her journey began as a chemical engineer with a deep passion for addressing climate change. Her early work focused on green cement, exploring ways to reduce the carbon footprint of construction. Fascinated by the potential of data science and machine learning to reveal unseen complex interactions between numerous influential factors, she dove into expanding her skillset.
Witnessing the devastating effects of bushfires during some hikes, Sima’s concern for the environment deepened. Today, she dedicates her time to studying the impact of climate change and natural hazards on human life and the planet. When not immersed in research, she finds comfort in nature, cooking, and gardening—a reflection of her commitment to the environment she strives to protect.
