Dr Chantelle Blachut
Research Fellow
Chantelle is an applied mathematician working as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of New South Wales (Canberra). Her background is in the development of mathematically grounded algorithms aimed at the detection and characterisation of anomalous behaviour in physical structures that change through time.
As part of the BNHRC Chantelle's current research is focused on extending our knowledge of the complex behaviour of bushfires around ridgelines. One particular goal being a numerical assessment of current and traditional fire management practises in these vicinities and the operational implications of such findings.
