PROJECT LEAD: Jessica Weir
LEAD INSTITUTION: Western Sydney University
END-USER LEAD AGENCY: NSWRA, RFS, SES, DCCEEW-NPWS
PROJECT SIZE: Large >$200,000
DURATION: 2.5 years
START DATE: 2025

This project will investigate the value and use of existing bushfire and flood community engagement evaluations and commissioned research, with findings to inform future data priorities. Stakeholder workshops will identify what data are held and what data are needed, and if there is any duplication or gaps, as well as any potential for comparison/re-analysis.

The project team will also conduct in-depth interviews and focus groups of employee/member/researcher expectations and experiences to generate:

a. broader perspectives and identify potential opportunities for improving research value and impact; and,
b. nuanced understandings of employee/member/researcher views of community engagement, its evaluation and research utilisation.
